FUJIFILM ANNOUNCES NEW PRESSURE MEASURING TECHNOLOGIES

Innovative Film Line and Software Package Deliver Unrivaled Performance in Pressure Detection

Hanover Park, IL – September 22, 2008 - FUJIFILM Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Systems, Inc., a Hanover Park, IL,-based digital imaging company, has announced the availability of its Prescale line of films along with the FPD-8010E, Fujifilm Pressure Distribution Mapping System. Fujifilm is the first and only company to produce this powerful combination of pressure measuring products that are proving valuable with tangible cost and productivity benefits to a wide range of industries including paper and pulp, heat sealing, orthopaedic medicine, electronics, and automotive, among others.

Fujifilm’s innovative Prescale line of films is the only product in the world specifically designed to measure pressure and weight. The Prescale films are comprised of many tiny microcapsules - half color-forming capsules and half color-developing capsules. When pressure is applied these microcapsules react with each other, producing darker color shades indicating a higher pressure range and lighter shades indicating less pressure, delivering results immediately and with considerable precision over other measuring technologies. The Prescale films can measure weight and pressure distribution at a single moment of impact or continuously.

When used in conjunction with the FPD-8010E Fujifilm Pressure Distribution Mapping System, the Prescale films can deliver even higher quality and more precise results. The FPD-8010E software system scans and digitizes the Prescale film and generates multi-faceted measurement support data such as on display pressure distribution, enlargement and cross sectional distribution, as well as 3-D image display.

“We’re proud to be delivering the most powerful combination of tools for pressure measurement available,” said Doug Hackradt, National Sales Manager, Fujifilm NDT Systems. “The quality and accuracy of the Fujifilm Prescale line and the Fujifilm Pressure Distribution system and the efficiencies they afford have already created incredible demand and widespread use that I anticipate will only continue to grow.”

While proven to be a convenient and user friendly method of pressure distribution measurement, the Prescale film line and FPD-8010E have also proven invaluable across a broad range of industries in the U.S. and around the world. The products have served to both accelerate the process of product development and to realize improved yield based on detailed, multi-faceted measurement data. They have also increased productivity – particularly in the paper industry – by enabling pressure measurement analysis to be performed while production continues.

Fujifilm’s complete line of Prescale films from Extreme Low Pressure (4LW) to Super High Pressure (HHS), and the FPD-8010E system are currently available and being utilized throughout a number of industries.
